Collaborative Philosophy

Our work process is structured to assure exceptional creative outputs that meet client goals and tastes – on time and on budget. The key to this approach is a simple strategy: we listen.

We don’t believe in designing critical marketing assets in a vacuum. We take the time early in the project to fully understand client expectations and needs; this insight guides all of our subsequent work. At appropriate points in the project timeline, we share physical or electronic versions of work in progress, seeking direct feedback and agreement on next steps. Where possible, we provide several alternative designs, allowing clients to identify preferences.

Our project flow follows the four-step process describe below.

Strategy - Setting Specific Goals

The first step in creating powerful business communication is to understand the client’s business, market and target audience. This early work stage defines objectives and sets expectations for all work that follows. We work closely with the client to identify the business goals, creative scope and technical parameters that will drive the remainder of the project.

Design - Creating Effective Solutions

Our design approach is collaborative. Based on the goals set above, we begin the design process and refine designs through periodic review with the client. This collaboration with clients is facilitated by sharing PDF files or physical mock-ups for discussion and feedback. We maximize the instructive value of client feedback by seeking to understand not just which approaches are preferred, but also why they are preferred. A prototype of the project is available at the conclusion of this phase, providing another opportunity for feedback before taking the project into production.

Production - Generating Compelling Outputs

Each production medium requires specialized expertise for effective implementation. Our team includes designers and account managers with deep experience in print, web and other media, including signage and tradeshow visuals. Depending on the capabilities and desires of the client, we manage the numerous details related to materials, vendors and other critical components to assure a high quality and cost-effective finished product.

Analysis – Learning from Experience

We strive to learn from every project. We follow up with clients after implementation to gauge the communication impact of the project, the quality of fit with other aspects of brand identity, return on investment and other criteria. Our goal is to understand what works and what needs improvement; this knowledge informs our thinking on subsequent projects.
