One of my favorite parts about being a graphic designer is experimenting with different color combinations. Adobe Kuler is a simple and fun app that really helps to capture color inspiration and seamlessly use it in my workflow. I’ve been using Adobe Kuler on my desktop for years, it wasn’t until recently that I discovered their iPhone app. It has a ton of great features, but my favorite is by far the ability to use the phone’s native camera to extract unique color themes. Simply point the iPhone camera at something colorful and Kuler will instantly extract a series of colors. Once you’ve captured the basic colors from your surroundings you can keep tweaking them until you find the exact combo you want with the color wheel (remember that from art class?). You can easily share your themes via email, Twitter, and Facebook. You can also sync your color themes to the Kuler website where you can download the swatches for use in other Adobe products. Pretty cool huh? You can download the FREE Adobe Kuler app here.
